P.S.

I'm still alive!  My Stone Fox biz is on temporary hold due to the fact that I'm working 40+ hours a week, taking care of my 9 year old boy, and enjoying time with my husband.  If I was a real work-a-holic, I could come home each night at 7pm and check homework, make dinner, tuck Dom into bed, and then begin making stuff at 9pm, but really, that's just not sounding too nice.

I did make a pattern for a super cute little dress this morning...it's a gift for a pretty lady.  If the pattern turns out to be cute, than I think I'll make a few versions of this little gal...I've got endless amounts of fabrics that I really want to use!

Next weekend, I am going with my Uncle and Grandpa to the antique swap meet, which should definitely spark some inspiration!  Until then my friends...

Indie Collective.

A while back, I found this cool site called Indie Collective, which lists independent artists, crafters, and makers in a very helpful directory of online shops.  I decided to submit Stone Fox 1978 to them, and it turns out they just approved me!  If you click on the tag over there to the right, you can find me listed under the Apparel category.  How exciting!

Maybe this will motivate me to start making again...it's been a while.  In my own defense, I have started designing clothes for BeBop again, full time.  I mean, somebody's got to pay the bills.  So there.  :)

Your New Holiday Mini...

As luck would have it, I'm out of my pattern paper, and out of cash, so put the two together, and not too many new creations are coming out.  So, in the spirit of creativity and broke-ness, I'm working with what I have and manipulating my existing patterns.  I'm sure you can tell the similarities of the pattern between this absolutely fabulous little dress, and the thermal top in the post below.  But, like I was telling Steve, the two garments have such different vibes!

And, here she is...Your New Holiday Mini!!!

I think she is so pretty and I can't wait for someone to put her on with their favorite pair of boots and knitted tights this winter!

I Heart Thermal.

I forgot how much I loved thermal.  It turns out, it's a really great fabric for sewing too.  I did not have one problem while making this cute baby doll thermal.  The fabric just works so easy and it feels nice and soft on your skin.

My newest addition to Stone Fox...the "Birdie & Flower Printed Thermal Tye Dye Baby Doll Top".  Now say that 5 times fast!

I'm a Model, You Know What I Mean?

Check it out...my ad came out in N.E.E.T Magazine!!  If you'd like to see it in the magazine (which I think you should because everything in this mag is so gosh darn cute) it's towards the back on page 160.  I'm so excited...it's my first modeling debut...hahaha.

The whole ad, and well, Stone Fox in general was inspired by the movie "The Virgin Suicides".  Although the plot may seem dark, the whole visual feeling of the movie is so soft, feminine, and dreamy.  It really makes sense to me in the way that life really is...dark and full of gloom, but to get through it all, we ourselves make it pretty and dreamy.  The name Stone Fox came from the part of the movie where Trip Fontaine leans over to Lux in the movie theatre and whispers in her ear, "your a Stone Fox".  She gets all smiley and girly, and Trip is just the epitome of cool, so the whole scene just really rocked my socks off.  I think Sophia Coppola is just so sweet...and this awesome movie is just hands down beautiful.

Wow, I got a little emotional up there...now you all know how much Stone Fox really means to me!  Anyhow, here's what the ad looks like...please take a look, and tell everyone you know!!

Cutest Purple Top Ever!

I just finished this super cute purple top!  I'm so excited about how much I love it, that I had to post it somewhere right away!  It's actually totally wet in this pic, so it may look a little saggy...I literally just took it out of the dye bin 10 minutes ago.  In case anybody is wondering, I used a lot of purple dye with just a little red dye, and a spot of pearl grey dye to get this pretty shade of purple.  To get the tye dye effect, I just twisted up the top into a skinny shape and rubber banded, very tightly (like a pony tale) to get each stripe.

I would try to explain my sewing process, but that might take like 12 paragraphs...I wouldn't want to bore anyone!  I did keep the top pretty basic, since my pattern making skills are still improving for now.  I think it worked out great though because it's all about the tye dye on this baby.  Simple shapes, pretty colors, and a soft hand...that's what I'm all about!!

Here she is drying in the sunlight of my bedroom window...
My handy little bottle friends, Scarlet and Purple...

I'll be posting this cutie in my Etsy shop within the next day or two.  Stay tuned!
